If using Internet Explorer 8, 9, 10 or 11 and still unable to view the site properly, you may be in Compatibility View

Compatibility View is a mode which makes your browser work like an older version of Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer may be automatically configured to run in this mode. If this view is turned on it can cause problems with viewing pages, selecting drop down menus and various other interactive features on the New York Life Annuities Site. Follow the steps below to find out if you’re in this mode and how to disable it.

Disabling compatibility view in IE 8 or 9

  1. In the Internet Explorer Menu, click Tools.
  2. If Compatibility View is checked, click it to remove the checkmark. If not, move to step 4.
  3. Click Tools again.
  4. Select Compatibility View Settings.
    • Make sure "nylinvestments.com" is not listed under "Websites you've added to Compatibility View." (If "nylinvestments.com" is listed, click it and then click the remove button.)
    • Make sure that the "Display all websites in Compatibility View" checkbox is unchecked.
  5. Close and reopen Internet Explorer.
  6. Navigate back to www.nylinvestments.com/annuities

Disabling compatibility view in IE 10 or 11

  1. In the Internet Explorer Menu, click Tools.
  2. Select Compatibility View Settings.
    • Make sure "nylinvestments.com" is not listed under "Websites you've added to Compatibility View." (If "nylinvestments.com" is listed, click it and then click the remove button.)
    • Make sure that the "Display all websites in Compatibility View" checkbox is unchecked.
  3. Close and reopen Internet Explorer.
  4. Navigate back to www.nylinvestments.com/annuities.
