New York Life IndexFlex Variable Annuity – FP Series (IndexFlex)

 Video thumbnail: Introducing IndexFlex

Investment flexibility and principal guarantees with growth potential.

For investors seeking growth and principal preservation in their retirement savings, IndexFlex is a single premium variable annuity with index-linked, fixed, and variable investment options.

Our hybrid design offers:

  • The certainty of guaranteed principal protection in Index-linked Accounts, offering crediting rate guarantees that remain in effect for the duration of the elected surrender charge period (5, 6, and 7-year Initial Term options). Assets in the Index-linked Account are protected from market loss and are not subject to renewal rate changes until the end of the Initial Term. Guarantees are backed by claims paying ability of the issuer, New York Life Insurance and Annuity Corporation (NYLIAC). Index performance is based on well-known indices—The S&P 500®1 Price Return Index (S&P 500) and Russell 2000®2 Price Return Index (Russell 2000)—not opaque, custom, or hybrid indices.
  • The flexibility of variable and fixed investment options: For unlimited upside potential without the principal preservation of the Index-linked Account, investors can allocate a percentage of their premium across a selection of variable investment options from well-known money managers covering a broad range of investment strategies, including asset allocation options, as well as a fixed account option. The variable investment options involve market risk.
  • The freedom to reallocate as conditions change: IndexFlex investors can allocate to as many or as few options as they prefer; and can change their strategy through optional account transfers. Whether investors allocate their entire premium to the Index-linked Account to maximize principal preservation, invest a percentage of their premium in the variable options for more growth potential, or invest purely in the variable options where there is market risk and possible loss of principal; as market conditions or needs change, investors can change their strategy within a product they already own.

IndexFlex also offers traditional features available in a variable annuity, including:

  • Tax deferral of accumulations, which may help savings grow faster
  • A selection of investment options built from a broad range of asset classes
  • Some access to the account value3
  • Financial legacy protection through a guaranteed death benefit
